Latest Generation Consarc Vacuum Heat Treatment Technology

In June 2021 Consarc were delighted to achieve final acceptance at our customer’s site for the latest generation of Consarc pressure quench Horizontal Vacuum Heat Treatment furnaces. The furnace is utilised for heat treatment of aerospace single crystal components and is supplied to a long-established customer with multiple Consarc furnaces dating back more than 30 years.

The Consarc furnace boasts:

  • Latest generation of Consarc’s Multiflow high pressure quench system for rapid part quenching with optimum efficiency and minimal distortion;
  • Carbon / Graphite hot zone rated for 1450oC operation and complete hot face CFC protection for extended hot zone life;
  • PLC based control system with touch screen SCADA interface programmed with all Consarc latest operational and maintenance design features;
  • AMS2750E compliance;
  • Skid mounting for rapid shipment and installation via quick connect wiring and services.

This furnace has been designed and built with a particular focus to minimise plant footprint and for container shipment for ease of shipment and allow a rapid installation and commissioning phase

Following full assembly and hot test proving at Consarc factory, successful installation and commissioning has been achieved in a very short period of time despite the current challenges of international travel /restrictions. This represents the success of the partnership approach taken by Consarc with the customer to achieve on-time handover.
