FABRICATOR / WELDER

We currently seek a Fabricator / Welder to join our team based from our European manufacturing base in Eurocentral, Lanarkshire.  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fabricating a number of parts for project build including pipework, using engineering drawings. These parts will vary in size and complexity and also the materials used such as stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium.
  • The welding, including vacuum welding, of fabrications using MIG, TIG, FCAW and very occasionally stick, using good welding practice to ensure a clean, quality weld is laid at all times.
  • Inspection of own work ensuring all fabrications and weldments are correct to the drawings provided. Its imperative you assess the necessary clamping arrangement of each product to ensure there is no distortion of the final goods produced.
  • Ensuring that an excellent aesthetic product is produced.
  • Assess rework and carry out repairs to fabrications/weldments that are either returned from the customer’s sites or carry out this work at the customer site as required.
  • Ensuring the fabricating and welding area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • Ensure stock of consumable parts for fabricating/welding plus GAS is kept at required levels.
  • Learn how to braze and solder such materials as copper and brass from inhouse personnel.
  • Keep up to date with new technologies as they develop and ensure Consarc is current with the best welding practices.

Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship in fabricating and welding

Experience

Ideally 10 years in a similar role

Overhead crane operation

IPAF MEWPS 3a and 3b certification preferred, but not essential.

Due to the location of the site at Eurocentral you would benefit from having your own transport.
