PROJECT ENGINEER

We currently seek a Project Engineer to join our team based from our European Manufacturing Base in Eurocentral, Lanarkshire.  

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned projects
  • Monitor compliance to specifications, applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies and performance standards
  • Interact daily with customers and the Engineering team at Consarc to ensure project requirements are being achieved
  • Perform / monitor overall project control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, performance) and report regularly, internally and externally, on project status.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing and Senior Management to provide assistance and technical support
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as a Project Engineer
  • Knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD
  • MS Office skills
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
  • Project management and supervision skills
  • Travel to customer and supplier sites, both UK and worldwide, as required
  • Time management and organisation skills

Ideally, applicants should be qualified to HNC / Degree level and have experience within an engineering environment and project management to be considered for this role.

WELDER / FABRICATOR

We now seek an additional Welder / Fabricator to join our team based in Lanarkshire.

The successful candidate must be time served, have experience of both MIG and TIG and be used to working with materials such as Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and dissimilar material joining (mild steel and stainless steel together).  Your experience must include a varied array of projects and include fabrications that require port-positioning and cutting into circular/rectangular bodies and material thicknesses varying from 5mm-150mm, with weights from 0.5kg to 2500kg.  It would be advantageous to have:

  • Experience in the repair of the weldments and fabrications in mild steel, stainless steel and also dissimilar joining
  • The ability to carry out and review the results from DPI testing
  • Carried out some brazing soldering – however this training can be given at Consarc

You must be competent to study and apply details from engineering drawings and inspect your own work to these drawings.

Ideally you will have a forklift licence, be able to use an overhead crane and be available to travel to customer and vendor sites globally.  Due to the location of the site at Eurocentral you would benefit from having your own transport.

You must have a good level of education with an apprenticeship in fabricating and welding and have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar environment.

FIELD SERVICE, INSTALLATION & COMMISSIONING ENGINEER

We are currently looking for a Field Service, Installation & Commissioning Engineer ideally located in North / Central England.  The position requires travel throughout the UK, Europe and worldwide.

The successful candidate would be mainly based in the UK and should be expecting to be away from home Monday to Friday if the site is not within travelling distance of their home. There is also the possibility of periods of overseas work where the engineer would be expected to be away for up to 4-5 weeks, anytime above this would be agreed between the engineer and their manager beforehand. A team of engineers share the overseas work and would not be left to one engineer.

This role is ideally suited to a person with electro/mechanical maintenance background wanting to get into the service industry.

The successful applicant will have the following technical capabilities:

  • Electrical and /or Mechanical qualification C&G or equivalent.
  • Understand electrical schematics
  • Understand mechanical drawing.
  • Fault finding and regular maintenance functions of mechanical assemblies, drives, pumps etc.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic, water, hydraulic & electrical systems and their functions.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programmes.

Additional skills / qualifications that would be advantageous but not essential as product training will be given.

  • Knowledge of vacuum technology would be an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of temperature control instrumentation, invertors PLC’s and HMIs
  • Experience with Allen Bradley & Siemens PLC programmes.
  • BS7671 18th Edition Qualification.
  • C&G 2391-52 Initial and periodic inspection and testing.
  • Ability to fault find / repair / modify control systems
  • Experience in electrical installation 400/230V.
  • Fault find using PLC

Main duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to the following.

  • Responsibility for timely installation, and servicing of companies’ VF Range in accordance with issued time plans.
  • Complete Field Service and Installation / Maintenance Reports in a timely manner.
  • Report defects and site modification to Engineering team to ensure accurate records and drawing are maintained in line with the company’s quality system.
  • Liaise with customers to find out relevant information and keep them informed of work progress.
  • Where required, solve practical problems: detect and repair system faults.
  • Adhere to all health and safety requirements.
  • Be available to travel to site in UK, Europe and Asia at short notice.
  • Maintain all company assets in good working order and maintain professional appearance at all times.
  • Conduct customer interface in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Complete expenses for company credit card on monthly basis
  • Identify areas of improvement on equipment and liaise with Engineering / Manufacturing teams.
  • Safeguard personal wellbeing and those of customer personnel by identifying and being aware of risks on site.
  • Be proactive on customer’s site, be prepared to work extended hours to complete a job or task at customer site beyond normal business hours.
